Twilight Thursday Full Moon Paddles
Thursdays closest to the full moon March – October 6PM – 9PM (mas o menos)
Longer days means that the Full Moon social paddles are starting back up. Join Surfrider Foundation Central Texas Chapter on an informal paddle out and moonrise watching party on the Thursday evenings closest to the full moon at the Expedition School on the peaceful east side of Lady Bird Lake.
The dates for Spring are:
April – Thursday, April 21st 6-9PM (Moonrise at 7:45PM with sunset at 8:03 PM and last light at 8:28 PM)
May- Thursday May 19th 6-9PM (Moonrise at 6:34PM with sunset at 8:21 PM and last light at 8:47PM)
June – Thursday, June 23th 6-9PM (Moonrise at 5:19 PM with sunset at 8:35 and last light at 9:02 PM)
We meet up around 6:00 and get out on the water about 6:30 PM. If you cannot get there until later, it will not be hard to find us in the cove. The Expedition School sits in a really nice protected cove that makes it easy to meet up with folks who are already on the water. We usually circle up and have a “board meeting” in the cove before heading out to the lake. This is a very relaxed event and is more about enjoying the lake and being in or on the water than paddling for long distances. All levels are welcome and we usually have a drink or two afterwards to celebrate nice spring evenings on the water.
Paddle boards are available but feel free to bring any type of board or watercraft you are comfortable in.
We will have trash clean up supplies for those so inclined and refreshments for afterwards.
This is a great way to catch up on Texas beach activities and share in the stoke of springtime in Texas.
